New GRE Launched in Toronto
Billy Bishop Airport has completed a three-year multimillion-dollar airfield rehabilitation project the involved a new GRE. The overall scope of work included pavement rehabilitation, reconstruction of taxiways, signage and lighting for the runways, and the construction of a 3-sided Ground Run-up Enclosure (GRE). BDI’s three-sided GRE was designed specifically for engine run-ups of the Bombardier Q400 regional turboprop aircraft and is only the second such facility to be installed in Canada.
