BDI’s staff of engineers and technical experts are available to support airport consultants and their clients during the critical planning phases of projects by offering the following professional services:
Jet Blast Deflector Engineering Services
- Planning and design specification support in the early stages of a project
- Comprehensive jet blast studies and input for planning airfield geometry and construction
- Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) studies
- Jet blast impact assessments to ensure compliance with FAA, CAA, and ICAO guidelines
- Historical wind analyses for identifying optimal run-up pad orientation for aerodynamic usability
- Photo-realistic renderings for communicating concepts to stakeholders
- Field evaluation and recertification of existing jet blast deflector installations
- Relocation and reconfiguration of existing jet blast deflectors
Ground Run-up Enclosure Engineering Services
- Detailed ground run-up noise assessments to support planning efforts
- Planning and design specification support in the early stages of a project
- Acoustic field measurements for evaluating impacts of ground noise on the surrounding community
- Historical wind analyses for identifying optimal facility orientation and aerodynamics
- Support for airport noise compatibility planning (14 CFR Part 150)
- Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) studies
- Photo-realistic renderings for communicating concepts to stakeholders

Step 2 typically includes Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) studies by BDI’s engineering team.

Step 3 will include photo-realistic renderings created by BDI’s graphic artists.

Step 4 is facility construction, which is carried out by BDI at locations around the world.
