The original GRE at KLIA was designed and built by BDI to accommodate up to a B747-400. When the A380 was introduced, KLIA required the facility to be widened. As a part of the modification work, BDI successfully retrofitted the facility to incorporate new aerodynamic features that were not available when the original facility was built.
