The Auckland International Airport required two types of portable jet blast deflectors for an important runway construction project. These deflectors protect the active worksite from jet blast created by departing aircraft. Due to challenging site constraints and the wide range of aircraft that frequent AKL, the project required the use of BDI‘s in-house CFD capabilities to validate the level of safety prior to acceptance.
