An expansion at Airbus’s Broughton facility involved mitigating the effects of takeoff velocities produced by new Beluga XL aircraft. This required a new jet blast barrier to protect a public roadway. Due to the proximity to the runway, the blast fence required the incorporation of high-visibility orange and white sheets and breakaway (frangible) anchors in the event of an aircraft collision.
