Challenges:
- Challenging site geometry
- Cold-weather anchor installation
BDI designed and installed a large, versatile engine run-up area for MSP that utilized two main deflector heights: 14’ (4.2m) for wing-mounted engines and 35’ (10.6m) for high-tail engines. Designed for high power run-ups in a wide array of wind directions, multiple segments of deflector were provided to create a continuous “C” shape. Using BDI’s proven techniques, corner pieces were constructed for both concave and convex surfaces of the deflector to provide a design that is both visually pleasing and provides exceptional aerodynamic performance.
