“One of my most memorable projects was the GRE we designed and built at the Billy Bishop Airport for PortsToronto. The project required extensive support from BDI’s technical team during the planning phase, which provided an opportunity for our staff of engineers and drafters to demonstrate their technical knowledge of acoustics and aerodynamics as well as their artistic ability. In addition to acoustic contours, renderings, video simulations and aerodynamic charts, BDI created visualizations that depicted what the completed facility would look like from various vantage points along Toronto’s downtown waterfront. Facility appearance was very important to PortsToronto due to the high visibility of the project location. The completed facility exactly matches the visualizations created by the BDI team, which is very rewarding to all of us.”
